Ümit İşgörür
Prof. Ümit İşgörür graduated 1985 from Dokuz Eyül University State Conservatoire. Following this he was invited by cellist Owen Carman to the University of Michigan State where he started his post-graduate studies. In 1991 he received his masters degree after which he began studying for his doctorate in conducting. During this period he worked with Harvey Shapiro from the Juilliard School of Music and with Joel Krosnick, the cellistof the Juilliard String Quartet. In 1998 he received first prize in the Bach Competition.İşgörür has performed as a soloist and recitalist in USA, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Equador, Cuba, Cyprus and in various cities throughout Turkey. He is a professor at the Dokuz Eyül University State Conservatoire and is the founding coordinator of the Dokuz Eyül University Symphony Orchestra.
