Adem Gülşen
Adem Gülşen graduated in 2005 from Kocaeli University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Piano. Adem Gülşen, who studied jazz theory with Elvan Aracı (2005-2006) and improvisation and sound studies with Aydın Esen (2006-2009), has been involved in many projects and albums for more than 15 years.
Among the musicians and singers he has worked with are Hüsnü Şenlendirici (Hüsn’ü Dream) Birsen Tezer (Eastern Standards) Ceylan Ertem, (albums and concerts) Jehan Barbur, Cenk Erdoğan, Şirin Soysal, Başak Yavuz, Kerem Türkaydın, Emre Tankal, Deniz Taşar, Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol and many other jazz artists. Since 2008, the artist has been actively working on recording projects and concerts, and since 2007, he has been participating in jazz and music festivals with different projects.
Serkan Alagök
Bassoon and drummer Serkan Alagök started his music education at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory in 2001. In 2016, he completed his master’s degree at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory. He conducted masterclasses with world-renowned virtuosos and educators such as Gustavo Nunez, Patrick de Ritis, Dag Jensen, Sergio Azzolini.
Throughout his orchestral career, he took part in concerts, tours, and recordings as a guest artist in orchestras such as Ankara Youth Symphony Orchestra, Hacettepe Symphony Orchestra, Antalya State Symphony Orchestra, Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Bursa Regional State Symphony Orchestra, Çankaya Philharmonic Orchestra, and Filarmoni Antalya. He took part in the Hungarian tour of Hacettepe University Symphony Orchestra.
In 2017, he won the exam opened by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra and became a member of the orchestra until 2019.
In 2005, Alagök started to play drums professionally. In 2011, with the establishment of the jazz department at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, he studied with instructors such as Emre Kartari, Skip Gailes and Howard Curtis and attended their classes. He has had the opportunity to accompany many artists in various concerts and festivals in Turkey and abroad, to take part in album recordings and to perform on television programs. Bansko Jazz Festival in Bulgaria, Turkish Jazz Week in Washington DC, Sochi Jazz Festival, Baku Jazz Festival, Winnipeg Jazz Festival in Canada, Tashkent Jazz Festival in Uzbekistan are some of the concerts he gave abroad. Some of the artists and bands she has worked with are: Sibel Köse, Önder Focan, Ayşe Gencer, Evrim Özşuca, Şule Köken, Su İdil, Meriç Çalışan, Ceren Temel, Ercüment Orkut, Ozan Musluoğlu, Kağan Yıldız, Abdurrahman Tarikçi, Tamer Temel, Ahmet Elmas, Meriç Demirkol, Uraz Kıvaner, Kerem Görsev, Barış Doğukan Yazıcı TRT Light Music and Jazz Orchestra, Blue Project, İmer Demirer, Yıldız İbrahimova, Elif Canfeza Gündüz, Adem Gülşen, Kaan Bıyıkoğlu, Janusz Szprot, Skip Gailes, Ray Blue, Murat Ulus, Rüstem Rahmedov, Meltem Ege, Alan Harris, David Braid, Greg Gatien, Deborah Davis, Greg Gatien, David Braid. In 2021, he released an album titled “A Mystical Journey” with Koray Ergünay and Burak Yücesoy, in which he played both bassoon and drums. In 2023, he was invited to Brandon University in Canada as a guest lecturer. He is currently working as a lecturer and department head at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Jazz Department.
Mikhail Pashkov – Double Bassist
Born October 20, 1999 in Yaroslavl, Russia, Mikhail Pashkov is a double bassist proficient in different genres such as jazz, ethno-fusion and jazz-rock. He started his musical career in Yaroslavl, studying piano, before becoming interested in jazz, playing double bass and bass guitar. In 2016-2020 he studied jazz at the M.P. Mussorgski Music School in St. Petersburg, where he took lessons from prominent teachers.
In 2019, Pashkov won first place at the Jazz Across Borders festival with his ethno-fusion band Settlers, and has performed at major organizations such as the Moscow Jazz Festival. Living in Istanbul since 2022, Pashkov has been strongly involved in the jazz scene in the city, performing at clubs such as Nardis, Bova and Gregor and winning the Young Jazz festival with Esra Gürçay Quartet. He has also performed at prestigious events such as Akra Jazz Festival and Istanbul Jazz Festival.
