Metropolis Piano Quartet – an ensemble of four friends associated with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice and the Academy of Music in Katowice. United by their passion for chamber music, they represent the need to take on new artistic challenges.
Each musician has in their artistic achievements a variety of awards and distinctions at international solo competitions, as well as chamber ones: Ludwig van Beethoven International Chamber Competition in Hradec, “Young Paganini” International Violin Competition, “Premio Vittorio Gui” International Chamber Music Competition in Florence and the International Chamber Competition “Premio Trio di Trieste”.
As winners of these prestigious competitions, they have performed at numerous national and international festivals: Unerhörte Musik in Berlin, Intersonanzen Festival in Potsdam, Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, Emanations International Music Festival, Krzyżowa Music Festival and Warsaw Autumn.
The ensemble has performed at many national and international festivals, including: the 2nd International Artistic and Scientific Conference “The Beethoven Phenomenon” at the Academy of Music in Katowice, 10th International Festival “Andrzej Nikodemowicz Time and Sound” at the Crown Tribunal in Lublin, 4th International Artistic and Scientific Conference “Less perceived colors of Romanticism” at the Academy of Music in Katowice, a series of concerts “FO Kameralne” in the concert hall of the Opole Philharmonic, 30th Silesian Festival Ludwig van Beethoven in Głogówek, chamber concert “Józef Wieniawski on the 110th anniversary of his death” at the Zamoyski Museum in Kozłówka.
